Pedro Miguel Lorenti (Jr.) specializes in public law
(administrative law, constitutional law, economic regulation
and international law). He also has a wide experience
in business law and litigation.
He has Master in Public Administration (MPA), J. F.
Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University (1999);
Master in European Community Law, Universidad Autonoma
de Madrid Law School (1997) and Master in Administrative
Law, Universidad Austral, Argentina (1994). He holds
a J.D. equivalent degree awarded by the Universidad
de Buenos Aires Law School (1989). He is currently working
on his Ph.D. dissertation about State liability under
bilateral investment treaties, for the Program of Public
Law and Legal Philosophy of the Universidad Autonoma
de Madrid Law School.
On January, 2004, the Argentine business magazine "Apertura"
honored him as one of the top Argentine lawyers under
40 years old.
Since 2003, he is legal counsel to Western Africa Navigator
(WA NAV), an affiliate of Navigator Resource Management
Inc., a company based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, providing
consulting services to the Republic of Equatorial Guinea
on regulation, international treaties of regional integration
and international arbitration. In Argentina, he counsels
power generation and distributions companies, public
woks contractors and mining companies.
He was Vice President of Nucleoelectrica Argentina
S. A., a State-owned corporation operating the Argentine
nuclear power plants (2001-2002); Chief of Department
at the Legal Office of EDESUR S. A. -energy public utility-
(1994-1996) and Director General of Technical and Legal
Coordination at the Government -former Municipality-
of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires (1993-1994).
He has published many papers and articles ("La
Ley" and "El Derecho" Argentine law journals,
"R.A.P." -Argentine Public Administration
Review-, The "Universidad Autonoma de Madrid"
Law Review, The Journal of World Investment and Trade,
Oil and Gas Law Intelligence, etc.) and is currently
professor of Constitutional Theory and Law at the School
of Political Sciences and International Relations of
the Universidad Catolica Argentina.
