The government has determined the Minimum Salary and its increases for the next six months, for the employees who have a labor relationship regulated by the Employment Contract Law (*) as follows:
* As from August 1, 2009: $1400.00 per month for full time employees who receive their salary on a monthly basis and $7 per hour for employees who receives their salary on daily basis;
* As from October 1, 2009: $1440.00 per month for full time employees who receive their salary on a monthly basis and $7,20 per hour for employees who receives their salary on daily basis;
* As from January 1, 2010: $1500.00 per month for full time employees who receive their salary on a monthly basis and $7,50 per hour for employees who receives their salary on daily basis.
It represents an increase of a little less than 8% in five months. This criteria may be used by other employees when requesting increases.
Keep in mind that above said floor, the collective bargaining agreements applicable to each Company also establish minimum salaries to be paid to each category of employees.
(*) This regulation is not applicable to the employees who have a labor relationship regulated by the Rural Regime (Law 22248).
